James Davis III

Communications Associate

James Davis III is a Communications Associate with Freedom Reads. While serving 25 years in prison, James earned an Associate degree from Middlesex Community College and a BLS from Wesleyan University with a double major in Philosophy and English. He has published two papers in academic journals and published a book he co-wrote with three of his fellow mentors in the T.R.U.E. Program, a specialized unit in which older men mentor younger men. Mentors create and facilitate programs, do community outreach, and conduct tours for guests. Having lived for a few years in a cellblock with a Freedom Reads library Mr. Davis feels blessed to be part of the team that will make that same soul stirring opportunity available for other incarcerated women and men.
